About the race
Legacy of Patriots 4th Annual Miles of Memories 5K is a memorial walk/run held in Fenton, Missouri on 09/12/2026. The event honors a veteran who in December 2021 was diagnosed with stage four gastric adenocarcinoma attributed to burn pit exposure during deployment to Baghdad, Iraq eleven years earlier. He fought the illness for seven months and died on June 19, 2022, leaving a spouse and three school-aged children. During a period of recovery he managed to walk three miles in one day, an effort that inspired this 5K.
The event offers both an in-person Walk/Run 5K and a Virtual Walk/Run 5K. Registration opens 04/01/2026 and the registration fee is $30. Organizers state registration will remain open through the evening before the event; to guarantee receipt of an event t-shirt, registration should be completed by August 27, 2026. Packet pick-up will be available for registrants on the day of the event, and there will be vendor areas and music after the walk/run.
