Rock The Ridge

Rock The Ridge is an annual trail running and relay event held on the Shawangunk Ridge at Mohonk Preserve in New York’s Hudson Valley. The event features a 50 mile ultra, a 26.2 mile trail marathon, and relay team options across the preserve’s carriage roads, ridgelines and forested terrain.

Now in its 14th year, Rock The Ridge is organized as a fundraiser for Mohonk Preserve. Funds raised support Conservation & Community Education, Stewardship and Visitor Experience programs that maintain and study the preserve’s more than 8,000 acres, historic carriage roads and trails. The course is described as well marked and runs largely on wide carriage roads with scenic vistas.

Event logistics noted by the organizer include an 18 hour cutoff for the 50 mile course, closely spaced and well stocked aid stations, volunteer support along the route, personalized fundraising assistance, and a finish-line gathering.
