Rock 'N The Knob Trail Challenge
Rock 'N The Knob Trail Challenge is a mountain trail event held on September 12, 2026, at Blue Knob near Claysburg, Pennsylvania. The course sits at over 3,100 feet above sea level and uses rocky, technical trails on and around Blue Knob Mountain.
The event offers three race options with notable climbing and trail features:
- 10K-ish: about 6.2 miles with nearly 1500 feet of climbing.
- Medium distance: roughly 13.1 miles with about 3500 feet of climbing and three aid stations.
- 50K ultramarathon: includes the medium and 10K sections with around 7500 feet of climbing.
The medium distance course lists three aid stations at Chappelle's Field (mile 4.6), Ravens Rest (mile 7.2), and Heavens Hairpin (mile 11.1). The shorter course includes one aid station at the base of the first climb, near Throat Punch Hill. Course descriptions note named trail features such as Throat Punch Hill, Teal is Real, Devils Hairpin, Soul Sucker Slopes and others that appear on the routes.
