About the race
The Rock Creek 5k and 10k is scheduled for March 21, 2027 at Rock Creek Park in Washington, DC. The event awards series points toward the organizer's Year Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack Series, and also counts toward the Winter Series. A virtual race option is available.

The course is paved and described as mostly flat with one considerable hill. The 5k follows an out and back layout; the 10k consists of two laps. Water stations are provided along the courses: five stations on the 10k at approximately mile markers 0.6, 2.5, 3.1, 3.7, and 5.6, and two stations on the 5k at approximately mile markers 0.6 and 2.5. Gatorade will be available at some water stations. Restroom facilities are located across from the tennis center.
Registered participants receive a finisher medal, a technical Drifit event shirt, and chip timing. T shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before March 10; extra shirts may be available afterward on a first come first served basis. Packet pickup is available at the event and there is no on site race registration. Live race results will be posted on Athlinks and final results with series points will be posted to the organizer's website the Monday after the race.
Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to top finishers in age groups such as 19 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 plus. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
