Event overview
The 2026 Rock Creek 5k & 10k takes place on March 21, 2026, at Rock Creek Park in Washington, DC. Distances offered:
- 5k - out-and-back; water at ~0.6 and ~2.5 miles.
- 10k - two laps; water at ~0.6, 2.5, 3.1, 3.7, and 5.6 miles.
The course is paved and described as mostly flat with one considerable hill. Walkers and strollers are welcome. A virtual race option is offered for those who cannot attend in person.
Race details
Participants receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Drifit) event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed before March 11; extra shirts will be ordered after that date on a first-come, first-served basis. The race benefits the charity We Rock Cancer.
There will be water stations along the courses; Gatorade will be available at some stations. Packet pickup is available at the event; participants are advised to arrive early to check in. There will be no on-site race registration.
Awards are given to the top three men and women overall, and 1st and 2nd place in age groups (19&Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+). Top three overall finishers are not eligible for age-group prizes. Live results will be posted on Athlinks; final results with series points will be posted the Monday after the race.
