Rock Creek 5k and 10k
This event offers two measured distances through Rock Creek Park and includes an in-person option and a virtual run option for those who cannot attend on the day. Points from the races count toward the organizer's Year‑Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack Series, and also toward the Winter Series. The race benefits the charity We Rock Cancer.
Runners receive a finisher's medal, a technical event shirt, and the event is chip timed. The paved course is mostly flat with one considerable hill. The format is described as follows:
- 5k out-and-back
- 10k two laps
There are five water stations on the 10k course at approximately mile markers 0.6, 2.5, 3.1, 3.7, and 5.6; the 5k has two stations at about 0.6 and 2.5. Gatorade will be available at some stations. Restrooms are located across from the Rock Creek Park Tennis Center. Packet pickup is available at the event and participants are advised to arrive early to check in. There will be no on-site race registration for this event.
Live results are posted on Athlinks with a QR code available at the race for immediate access; final results and series points are posted on the organizer's website after the event. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall plus age group awards in standard decade categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
