Rock Chalk Run 10K
Rock Chalk Run is a community running event in Overland Park, Kansas, organized around fundraising for scholarships for KU Edwards Campus students. The event offers multiple distances and on-course and post-race elements that serve participants and families.
The program includes the following distances:
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 1 km Family Fun Run/Walk
Registration opens March 1, 2027 and closes May 31, 2027. Published registration fees are $45.00 for the 10 km, $25.00 for the 5 km, and $15.00 for the 1 km. Group registration pricing applies when three or more people register together, reducing each registration by $3.
Awards and participant items are specified by distance. The 10 km and 5 km include 1st place awards in male and female age categories. The 1 km participants receive a bib, a participation medal, and a commemorative KU t-shirt; 1 km entrants are not officially timed. The 2026 event introduced a new 10 km trail and staggered starts for the different distances. Run shirts in recent years were supplied through a partnership with adidas.
Event amenities listed include a Family Fun Zone with activities, a visit from Baby Jay, sponsor and vendor booths such as Fleet Feet, Athletico, KU Alumni and Truity Credit Union, and a KU Bookstore pop-up shop. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
