Kansas City Turkey Trot
The Kansas City Turkey Trot takes place on November 26, 2026 at Swope Park near the Kansas City Zoo in Kansas City, MO. The main distance is a chip timed 5K and the event also includes a kids dash. The 5K has a course time limit of 1 hour 20 minutes.
Event gear options include a classic t-shirt or an upgraded thin-tec soft polyester pullover. Donut King donuts are available at the finish line. The event supports Best Buddies, which offers friendship and leadership development programs for people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities in Missouri. Results from this race feed into the nationwide Thankful Turkey Run/Walk national leaderboard.
Practical race details: packet pick-up information is posted in advance; participant packets can also be picked up at the event site with an expected wait. Packet mailing is not available and participant gear must be picked up at pre-event pickup or on race day; there may be fees to have gear mailed after the event. All participants must sign an online waiver. Water stations provide water only and there is no gear check on site. Headphones are allowed but not recommended. Dogs are not permitted; strollers are allowed for walkers and joggers only with a guardian waiver.
