About the race
The Road Race for Education is an annual community running event held in Decatur, Georgia (2901 Clifton Springs Rd, 30034). In its 45th year, the event brings together the East Lake community and East Atlanta neighbors to support quality education and to raise funds for Mohammed Schools of Atlanta.
The weekend program includes multiple race formats:
- 5K road race (in-person)
- 5K senior walk
- 1 mile kids fun run
- 5K virtual run
The in-person 5K is chip timed on a USATF certified course and is RRCA recognized. In-person 5K registration includes a participant shirt (while supplies last), a medal, and chip timing. Virtual 5K registration includes a participant shirt; packet shipping is not included and participant packets will not be mailed. Virtual entries have access to virtual results reporting.
All registrations are transferable but non-refundable. The deadline to transfer an in-person entry to the virtual format is August 22, 2026. Participant packets are scheduled for pickup on August 29, 2026 at the Atlanta Masjid of Al-Islam. Proceeds from the event support educational resources, programs, and scholarships for Mohammed Schools of Atlanta.
