Toledo Flags River Run at Ostrich Towne
Toledo Flags River Run is a Fourth of July running event in Downtown Toledo that follows a 4 mile course along the Maumee River. The event starts and finishes at Ostrich Towne in the Vistula neighborhood and highlights riverfront views, skyline scenery, and crossings of the Cherry Street and Craig Street Bridges. The route passes through International Park and the Glass City Metropark.
The event attracts more than 750 participants and marks over ten years of local tradition. Organizers describe the race as family friendly: runners, walkers, kids, strollers, veterans, and team entries such as corporate and community groups are all accommodated. The course is stroller friendly and the event is held rain or shine.
Special elements for the 2026 edition include America 250 commemorative shirts, medals, and race day experiences. Prize awards are offered for top finishers, including overall male and female payouts of $500, $300, and $150 for the top three, master and grand master prizes of $135, and age group winners receiving a free shoe certificate.
Race headquarters and the finish area at Ostrich Towne are positioned near restaurants, coffee shops, and breweries, providing a festival-style atmosphere after the finish. Packet pickup is available early at Dave's Running Store in Sylvania and on event morning at Ostrich Towne. Ample parking is available in the Vistula garage at Superior and Cherry for a cashless fee.
