About the race

Toledo Flags River Run is a Fourth of July running event held along the Maumee River in downtown Toledo. The event centers at Ostrich Towne in the Vistula neighborhood, which serves as race headquarters and the finish area. The course covers 4 mile and passes through International Park, the Glass City Metropark, and across the Cherry Street and Craig Street bridges, offering riverfront and skyline views.

The event has a multi decade tradition in the community, typically drawing more than 750 participants and welcoming runners, walkers, families, veterans, teams, and strollers. The course is stroller friendly and organized for both individual and group participation.

Prizes are awarded to top finishers, including overall cash awards and age group rewards. Special commemorative shirts, medals, and race day experiences are planned for America 250 in 2026. The event is held rain or shine. Packet pickup is available early at Dave's Running Store in Sylvania and on race day at Ostrich Towne. Ample parking is available at the Vistula garage for a cashless fee of $5 and at other downtown locations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
