River Rock Run in Buffalo, NY
The River Rock Run is the fifth annual community 5K organized by the Black Rock Riverside Alliance (BRRAlliance). The event uses a USATF certified course (Certificate #NY23023JJ) through Riverside Park and surrounding trails. The route passes through an Olmsted-designed park, crosses the I-190 pedestrian bridge, follows the Shoreline Trail south to Tow Path Park, and returns along the same path.
Timing and finish line services are provided with Jaguar Electronic RFID timing by Race Management Solutions, with results available in real time through standard race result platforms and kiosks. Participants receive finisher medals and age group winners are recognized with custom decals; overall first place male and female finishers receive awards. Age categories include stroller division for ages five and under, 6-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 plus.
Event proceeds support BRRAlliance operations and their environmental and economic development initiatives for Buffalo’s North District. The event offers on-site packet pickup the day of the race, guaranteed event shirts for registrations completed by September 10, 2026, and a small number of extra shirts while supplies last. There is a no refund policy and organizers reserve the right to postpone or offer a virtual alternative for safety or emergency reasons.
