River Rock Run
River Rock Run is a community running event organized by the BRRAlliance in Riverside Park, Buffalo, NY. The event features a USATF certified 5K course (Certificate #NY23023JJ) that travels through Olmsted-designed parkland, crosses the I-190 via the pedestrian bridge, follows the Shoreline Trail to Tow Path Park, and returns along the same route to the park.
Distances offered:
- 5K
- Kids Fun Run approximately 1/4 mile for ages seven and under
- Virtual 5K with event shirt shipping within the Continental USA
Timing and finish line services use RFID technology with real time result access and photo sharing through event platforms. Awards include overall first place male and female, finisher medals for participants, and age group winners for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places with custom decals for medal backs. Age categories range from stroller division through 80 plus.
Registration fees are listed for in person and virtual options; event shirts are guaranteed for participants who register by September 10, 2026, with a limited number of extras available afterward. Packet pickup occurs inside Riverside Park on race day. Proceeds support the BRRAlliance operations and environmental and economic development initiatives focused on the North District of Buffalo.
