River Hawk Races
The River Hawk Races, organized by the Mount Holly Community Development Foundation, take place in Mount Holly, North Carolina. This event represents a rebranding of the former Mount Holly 5K and 10K events. The courses utilize the city's greenway system, which runs alongside the Catawba River, emphasizing the local connection to the natural landscape.
Participants can choose from several event distances:
- Tailrace 10K
- Greenway 5K
- Kids Tadpole Dash
The event includes a competitive element with awards presented to the top three overall male and female finishers. Recognition is also provided for the top three male and female runners across various age divisions, beginning with participants aged 14 and under and continuing through to those aged 70 and over in five-year increments.
Those registered for the 5K or 10K distances receive an event t-shirt as part of their registration. The event infrastructure also supports fundraising efforts and volunteer opportunities.
