20th Annual Lean30 Lake Norman Half Marathon Turkey Trot
The event takes place on Thanksgiving Day in Cornelius, NC, with the start and finish located at Life Fellowship Church, 20010 Chartown Dr, Cornelius, NC 28031. It is offered as part of the Lake Norman Half Marathon Series and includes in-person and virtual options.
Race distances include:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles), two-loop course currently being certified
- 10K (6.2 miles)
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- Virtual run (any distance)
Swag for participants includes a finisher medal, a short sleeve technical t-shirt, a cup, and a beanie; a hoodie is offered to half marathon registrants under specified registration conditions. Awards are given to the top three men and top three women overall and in age groups for each in-person distance. The virtual option receives a participation medal, race t-shirt, and swag that is shipped after the event.
The Human Health Project is the beneficiary; the organization issues grants and donates nonperishable food to local shelters. Participants are asked to bring a nonperishable food item at registration when possible. All courses are on asphalt road with no off-road sections. Strollers start at the back of the 5K, toddlers under four may walk with a parent for free, and no pets, firearms, or alcohol are permitted.
