University City Turkey Trot
The University City Turkey Trot is scheduled for Thursday, November 26, 2026, in Charlotte, North Carolina, at 3024 Prosperity Church Road. The event offers a community 5k running and walking event alongside a separate fun run for children. After the event there is a post-race area with food, drinks, games and music.
The event includes:
- 5k run/walk
- Fun run for kids of all ages
Awards are presented for first through third place overall, and first and second place male and female in each age category. A costume contest offers three prizes. Every participant is guaranteed a medal. The event also organizes an annual food drive and collects non-perishable items for community members in need.
Packet pick-up is at Run For Your Life University, 1816 E Arbors Drive, Charlotte, NC 28262, on Saturday, November 21, 2026 from 10:30am to 5:00pm and Wednesday, November 25, 2026 from 10:30am to 3:00pm. There is no packet pick-up or registration on race day.
The event benefits Sickle Cell Partners of the Carolinas, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) established in 2009 that provides support, education, and advocacy for patients and families affected by sickle cell disease. A themed turkey tee shirt is produced for the event; registrations received by Monday, November 6, 2026 by noon will ensure a tee shirt order.
