Event details
The 2026 University City Turkey Trot is scheduled for Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026, in Charlotte, NC. The event is the 13th annual running of the Turkey Trot and features a main 5k run/walk and a fun run for children. After the races there is a post-race mini feast with food, drinks, games and music. The event includes a costume contest and awards as follows: first, second and third place overall; first and second place male and female in each age category; and three costume contest prizes. Every participant is guaranteed a medal. Registration by Monday, November 6, 2026 is cited as the deadline to ensure receipt of the event tee shirt.

The race location is 3024 Prosperity Church Road, Charlotte, NC 28269. Packet pick-up is held at Run For Your Life University, 1816 E Arbors Drive, Charlotte, NC 28262, on dates listed before race day; there is no race day packet pick-up or race day registration. The event benefits Sickle Cell Partners of the Carolinas, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides support for patients and families affected by sickle cell disease and works to raise awareness and advocate for a cure.
