Riva Runs The Boardwalk 5K

Riva Runs The Boardwalk is an evening seacoast running event at Riva on the water in West Haven, Connecticut, held on September 12, 2026. The main course is a mostly boardwalk, flat 5K course measured at 3.11 miles, with at least one turnaround point. The event includes computer chip timing, one water table on course, volunteers and police support, and a post-race atmosphere with music, snacks, nonalcoholic beverages and adult beverage service for those 21 and over.

There is a kids run for children aged 9 and under; the stated distance is 100 yards but organizers note the final distance may be adjusted based on numbers and ages. Entry fees vary by registration period; a specially designed event t-shirt is guaranteed for registrants who meet the t-shirt guarantee deadline of September 1, after which shirts may be available while supplies last. Awards will be given to top male and female overall and to first place finishers in multiple age groups, including 9 and under through 70 and over. The inaugural event is limited to 250 participants. Event production is managed by Rivagivesback with race services provided by MS Running Productions. Safety protocols will follow state and town guidelines.
