About the race
Riva Runs The Boardwalk is an evening running event on September 12, 2026, at Riva on the water in West Haven, Connecticut. The main course is a flat, scenic 3.11 mile route mostly on the boardwalk with at least one turnaround. The event is produced by Rivagivesback with support from MS Running Productions.
Distances:
- 5K on the boardwalk, flat and scenic 3.11 miles
- 100 yards kids run, intended for age 9 and under; distance may be adjusted
The 5K is computer chip timed. One on-course water table is planned; volunteers and police will be on the course. Finish amenities include a canned beverage for participants 21 and over, snacks, and nonalcoholic beverages. A band and a DJ are scheduled around the event and there is an after party at Riva. T-shirt size is guaranteed for entries confirmed by September 1. The inaugural event is limited to 250 participants. Awards include top male and female overall (removed from age groups) and first place in multiple age categories from 9 and under up through 70 plus. Registration opens July 9; initial fees in the event listing start at $35 for 21 and over, $25 for 20 and under, and the kids run is free. Parking is available nearby for over 200 cars.
