Riva Runs The Boardwalk 5K
Riva Runs The Boardwalk is an evening running event on September 12, 2026, at Riva, 183 Beach St, West Haven, CT. The primary course is a mostly boardwalk route of 3.11 miles (flat) with one turnaround point; participants are required to stay to the right on the boardwalk. The course will be marked and supported by volunteers, a single water table, and police presence.
Distances and categories:
- 5K for participants aged 21 and over
- 5K for participants aged 20 and under
- Kids run, about 100 yards, for children 9 and under
The event is chip timed and limits the field to 250 participants for the inaugural edition. A guaranteed event t-shirt size is offered to registrants by September 1; shirt availability after that date is limited. Finishers aged 21 and over receive a canned beverage; snacks and nonalcoholic beverages are available for others. Awards include top male and female overall and 1st and 2nd in specified age groups, with overall winners removed from age group results. Parking lots near Riva can accommodate over 200 cars. Safety protocols will follow state and town guidelines.
