Rise & Run 5K
Rise & Run 5K takes place on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2027, at Tom Bennett Park, 400 Cypress Creek Blvd, Bradenton FL. This is the fourth annual edition of the event.
The event is team focused and family friendly. It uses a flat road course and welcomes runners, walkers, and participants pushing strollers. Features listed by the organizer include a prize for the largest team, a selfie wall, music, giveaways, and themed "Why I Rise" medals.
Event options:
- 5K in person, registration fee $25
- 5K virtual, registration fee $32; shirts and medals mailed from Dec 1
Awards will be given to the top three men and women and to the top two finishers in each age group. Age groups are 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus.
Ten percent of event proceeds will benefit Selah Freedom, an organization that provides safe housing, trauma informed care, and other support for survivors of human trafficking.
Packet pickup and registration details provided by the organizer include an on site pickup at New Balance in Sarasota on Dec 29 and additional pickup dates listed as Dec 30 and Dec 31 to be announced. Race day packet pickup and race day registration are available; race day registration requires a phone to scan a QR code and accepts card or mobile payment only, cash is not accepted.
