Run Manatee - Rye Preserve 5K
The RUN Manatee Rye Preserve event is the final race in a three-event series that explores Manatee County parks, beaches and preserves. It takes place at Rye Preserve in Parrish, Florida, and features a mixed-terrain 5K run/walk on the preserve trail system.
The preserve's trails pass through four distinctive ecosystems: sand pine scrub, xeric oak scrub, oak hammocks and the river community. Participants and visitors may observe wildlife such as the gopher tortoise and the Florida scrub-jay.
The day includes a warm up led by F45 Parrish and a yoga cooldown offered by Yoga Barre. A short fun run is provided for all ages, and a marketplace with local vendors will offer food and other items.
Distances:
- 5K run/walk on mixed terrain
- 0.25 km fun run for all ages
Pre-registration is required for the 5K and the 5K registration fee is $35. Event entry, warm up, yoga and the fun run/walk are free. The 5K registration includes a dri-fit event T-shirt and a custom finisher medal. Ten percent of 5K registration fees will be donated to Foundation for Dreams, which operates Dream Oaks Camp within Rye Preserve. Packet pick up is available November 19 at John Marble Recreation Center, November 20 at G.T. Bray Park, and on race day at Rye Preserve.
