Event overview
The Rise and Rebuild 5K Run / Walk is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2026, in Lynchburg, Virginia. The event supports the Free Clinic of Central Virginia and will raise funds to rebuild the clinic's Main Street location after recent smoke damage. The race start and finish are on the Linkhorne Middle School track at 2525 Linkhorne Drive, and the course is an out-and-back using the Langhorne Road Bridge Trail extension of the Blackwater Creek Bikeway. Surfaces on the course are paved.

The 5K has a race cap of 375 entrants. Fees for the 5K are listed as $30 (Nov 1 - Feb 28), $35 (Mar 1 - Mar 26), and $40 at packet pickup and on race day. Youth (12 and under) registration is $15. Virtual entries are listed at $30. Lynchburg Road Runners Club members may receive a $5 discount during the stated discount period.
Logistics, awards and policies
Packet pickup locations include Riverside Runners (2480 Rivermont Avenue) and Linkhorne Middle School (2525 Linkhorne Drive). Registrants who sign up by March 10, 2026, will receive a 5K t-shirt. Finishers and virtual participants may pick up medals and shirts at packet pickup and upload virtual results via the event platform or text. Timing is provided by Riverside Runners. Awards include top three overall male and female, top master (40+), and top three male and female in standard age categories. Strollers are prohibited on the bikeway and pets are discouraged. If the event is canceled for weather, it will be rescheduled for Sunday, March 30, with unable participants transferred to the virtual 5K. Assisted athletes and their pushers must each register and pay half price; assisted teams receive a 3-5 minute advance start and reserved parking.
