Event details
The Terrapin Mountain races take place in Sedalia, VA on March 21, 2026. The event has run for more than 17 years and is held on trails around Terrapin Mountain, White Oak Ridge, Goff Mountain, and Hunting Creek. Distances offered include:
- 50k
- Half-marathon
Each registered entrant receives event swag including a terrapin mug, access to fully stocked aid stations, a finisher's shirt, a post-race meal, and a special award for qualified category finishers.
Logistics and partner
Tent and car camping are free for participants this year. RV spots with electricity can be reserved through the Sedalia Center. Pizza will be available Friday evening for a small additional fee. Registration opens December 1, 2025. All registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, except as allowed by the event Pregnancy and Postpartum Policy; the organizer may re-evaluate this policy if the race reaches capacity and a waitlist exists.
The event partners with the Harvest Outreach Center, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides school-based and summer mental health services for youth ages 4-17. Donations made at registration support the center’s summer program and program supplies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
