5th Annual Big Game 5K Run / Walk
The Big Game 5K Run / Walk is a community sports event held in Lynchburg, Virginia. The event supports the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lynchburg, an organization focused on youth development and leadership. Participants are encouraged to wear team jerseys or hats to display their "Big Game" spirit during the activity.
The event features several participation options:
- 5K
- 5K Youth (12 & Under)
- Virtual 5K
The course is located at Percival's Island Natural Area and utilizes the Blackwater Creek Bikeway. This venue provides a paved path for the 5 km (3.1 miles) distance. Please note that strollers and pets are prohibited on the course for safety reasons.
Participants who registered by the early deadline receive a commemorative long-sleeve t-shirt, while all finishers receive a commemorative medal. The race serves as the first event in the 2026 Lynchburg Road Runners Race Series, allowing participants to score points toward series rankings. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as masters and various age group categories ranging from 12 and under to 70 and older.
