The 5th Annual Big Game 5K Run / Walk takes place on Saturday, February 7, 2026, in Lynchburg, Virginia. The event supports the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lynchburg. The course and venue use Percival's Island Natural Area and the Blackwater Creek Bikeway. Distances offered:
- 5K
- 5K Youth (12 & Under)
Youth entries do not include a shirt; a shirt can be added for an additional $10. Participants receive a commemorative finisher medal.
Logistics and policies
5K entry fees vary by registration date: $30 (Oct 10 - Jan 1), $35 (Jan 2 - Feb 5), and $40 at packet pickup and race day (Feb 6 - 7). A family discount of $5 per entry is available for groups of four or more registered together; family pricing ends February 5. A $5 Lynchburg Road Runners Club member discount is available for current members with restrictions and deadlines noted by the organizer.
Packet pickup is Friday, February 6 at Riverside Runners, 2480 Rivermont Avenue, Lynchburg, VA (12:00 pm to 6:00 pm), and on Saturday at the start/finish area on Percival's Island (9:00 am to 9:30 am). Participants registered by Friday, January 16 are guaranteed a commemorative long sleeve shirt.
Awards: top 3 overall male and female, top male and female master (40+), and top 3 in listed age groups. Official results will be posted on the event RunSignUp results page.
Registration fees and purchases are non-refundable and non-transferable. If the in-person event is canceled, entries will be moved to a virtual event. Inclement weather reschedule date is Saturday, February 14, or virtual options as determined. Strollers and pets are prohibited. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
