Point of Honor 5k

The Point of Honor 5k is the 17th annual 5K event in Downtown Lynchburg that raises awareness for organ and tissue donation and provides funds to LifeNet Health. Race headquarters is at the Depot Grille; the start and finish are a short walk from that location. The planned course will use the Blackwater Creek Trail for a majority of the route, though the exact 2026 course is still under consideration due to anticipated trail work.

Events include:

  • 5K Run and Walk - open to ages 13 and older
  • 5K Run and Walk for Children - open to ages 8 to 12

Registration fee tiers are published for early and later registration dates, and a special price applies for those 12 and under; 12 and under pricing does not include a race shirt and a shirt may be added for an additional fee. Registration fees are non-transferable and non-refundable. Current Lynchburg Road Runners Club members may receive a limited $5 discount during an early registration window. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed by March 1, 2026; a limited number may be available afterward.

Assisted participants must both register and will be ranked separately. Walkers are welcome. Pets and strollers are prohibited. Awards are given by overall and age group placings and results are ranked by chip time using disposable timing bib technology. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
