Portarlington Triathlon : Portarlington, Victoria
The Portarlington Triathlon is a sprint-distance triathlon held on the Bellarine Peninsula with course distances of a 500 m swim, an 18 km ride, and a 5 km run. The swim starts from the sand at Pier St Beach and finishes with a short traverse along the foreshore footpath into Transition 1 at Portarlington Beach Parking. The bike leg departs T1 onto the Esplanade, follows Coach Road with a turnaround, and is completed over two laps. The run follows the Portarlington foreshore path toward Indented Head, turns back at the water station in front of Seaforth Reserve, and finishes through a marked finish-line arch.
Event facilities include an Event Village located at Portarlington Beach Parking where early race pack collection and bike racking take place. The race uses a rolling swim start with self-seeding; participants are released in small groups and instructed to keep buoys on their right. Entry categories cover Individual Open Elite, Para Multiclass, multiple age-group brackets from 13 years upward, team categories (all male, all female, mixed) and a kids category for ages 7–12 (entries by a parent or guardian). Entry fees are non-refundable; transfers to another participant are permitted up to two days before the event for a fee.
The race is one of two in a regional series along the coast and the Bellarine Peninsula. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
