Rio Del Lago 100 Mile Endurance Run

Event Details

The Rio Del Lago 100 Mile Endurance Run is a trail race held on Saturday, November 7, 2026, starting at Beal's Point in Folsom Lake State Recreation Area, within the Sierra Foothills of California.

Course Information

The 100-mile course combines sections from the American River 50 and Way Too Cool 50K races. It begins at Beal's Point with a loop around Folsom Lake, travels along the American River Parkway and the Johnny Cash Trail, and passes by Folsom Prison. Runners then traverse trails in the Auburn State Recreation Area, including sections of the Western States Trail, and cross the historic No Hands Bridge. The route includes a variety of terrains including paved bike paths, single-track trails, and features significant elevation change. The race is a qualifier for the 2027 Western States 100.

A separate 50K race starts concurrently with the 100-mile event. The 50K course shares the initial section to Twin Rocks before turning back to the finish at Beal's Point.

Aid and Logistics

The event is a cupless race; runners must bring their own reusable cup or bottle for aid stations. Aid stations provide water, sports drinks, soda, energy gels, boiled potatoes, sweet and salty foods, and hot items like soup and quesadillas at night stations. Medical staff are stationed at the start/finish and several points on the course. Pacers are permitted from specific aid stations only. Crew access is prohibited at several designated locations along the course.

Participant Information

All runners must check in and pick up their race packet on the Friday before the race at a designated location in Folsom. Participants receive a technical shirt, and 100-mile finishers under 30 hours receive a finisher's jacket and belt buckle. All finishers receive a medallion. Post-race food is provided.
