Rio Del Lago 100 Mile + 50K Endurance Runs : event overview
Rio Del Lago is a trail running event held at Beal's Point in the Folsom Lake State Recreation Area, Granite Bay, California. The 2026 edition marks the 25th running of the 100 mile race and the 5th running of the 50K. The event uses B-tag chip timing and awards overall top three male and female finishers plus age-group awards in ten-year divisions. All entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

The 100-mile course has approximately +13,874 ft / -13,874 ft of elevation change. The route follows trails around Folsom Lake and Lake Natoma, the American River Parkway, the Johnny Cash Trail, Nimbus Bluffs, Pioneer Express Trail, and sections that join the Way Too Cool 50K course. Notable features include single-track trails, bridges such as No Hands Bridge, Granite Beach, Horseshoe Bar, Rattlesnake Bar, Cardiac Hill and the Auburn Dam Overlook.
Aid stations, crew, pacers and logistics
The race is cupless; runners must carry their own cup and carry two water bottles or a hydration pack. Aid stations are stocked with water, Skratch hydration, GU products, cola, ginger ale, energy bars, boiled potatoes and other foods. Hot soup and food are provided at specific stations including Horseshoe Bar, Rattlesnake Bar, Overlook, No Hands Bridge, Auburn Lake Trails and Granite Beach on the return. Certain locations are designated NO CREW ACCESS; unauthorized crewing at those sites may lead to disqualification. Pacers are allowed only at specified aid stations and must be on foot, sign a waiver and wear a pacer bib. Drop bag sizes, locations and retrieval deadlines are specified by race management.
