NorCal Backyard Ultra : Never Ending Fun
The NorCal Backyard Ultra takes place October 23-25, 2026 at Beals Point, Granite Bay, California. The event uses a repeating trail loop of 4.16 Miles with about 320 ft of elevation gain per lap. Runners complete the same loop each hour; at the top of each hour participants must begin the next lap and finish the previous lap. Failing to return to the start line at the start-of-hour check disqualifies a runner from continuing.
There are two event formats on site. The Last Person Standing continues until only one runner remains. The Mini Last Person Standing follows the same hourly lap format but ends for all Mini participants after a 12-hour limit.
Support details: there is a single aid area at the start/finish under a tent offering water, hydration mix, light snacks, and warm food. There are no aid stations along the course and on-course aid from crew is not allowed. Participants are encouraged to bring personal aid station supplies (tent, table, chair, food) and set them up near the start/finish, as laps allow time to return to a personal area.
All finishers receive event apparel and a custom wood award scaled to miles completed. The top finisher receives a custom wood plaque. The event also supports a Unity Initiative that matches donations to selected nonprofit partners and offers a future race discount when proof of donation is provided.
