Ringing in Spring 5K
The Ringing in Spring 5K is a community run/walk held on April 3, 2027 at the Valparaiso Family YMCA, 1201 Cumberland Crossing, Valparaiso, IN. The event marks the 34th anniversary of the Ringing in Spring and includes a ceremonial bell to celebrate the arrival of spring. The course begins just outside the YMCA by UPS, follows routes through the north end of Valparaiso, and returns to the starting area; volunteers are stationed along the course.
One hundred percent of registration proceeds benefit the Valparaiso Family YMCA Annual Campaign, providing financial scholarship assistance for programs, membership, and childcare services. The published registration fee is $35.00. Registration opens October 1, 2026 and closes April 3, 2027. The deadline for guaranteed shirt sizes is March 12, 2027.
Packet pickup is offered the two days before the race at Extra Mile Fitness, 3400 Calumet Ave., Valparaiso, and on race day in the YMCA gym. Participants receive an official 2027 Ringing in Spring shirt and a disposable on-bib chip for timing. Awards include overall male and female, masters male and female, and top three in multiple age groups from 10 and under through 80 plus. Strollers are allowed and start at the back of the corral for flow; dogs are not permitted on the course. The race is the fourth event in the Race the Region series.
