VALPARAISO YMCA Ringing in Spring 5K
The Valparaiso Family YMCA presents the 33rd annual Ringing in Spring 5K run/walk on April 4, 2026, held at the Valparaiso Family YMCA pavilion, 1201 Cumberland Crossing, Valparaiso, IN. The event is a community 5K that begins just outside the YMCA, travels through the north end of Valparaiso neighborhoods, and returns to the starting area. Volunteers will be positioned along the course.
All registration proceeds support the Valparaiso Family YMCA Annual Campaign to provide financial scholarship assistance for programs, membership, and childcare services. The event is listed as the fourth race in the Race the Region series.
Packet pickup is available at Extra Mile Fitness, 3400 Calumet Ave., on Thursday, April 2 and Friday, April 3, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Race day packet pickup is held in the YMCA gym. Participants receive an official 2026 Ringing in Spring shirt and a disposable on-bib timing chip; shirt size guarantee applies to registrations before March 16, 2026.
Awards include overall male and female, masters male and female, and top three in age-group categories from youth through 80 and over. Strollers are allowed and start at the back of the corral; timing uses a chip that activates at the start line. Dogs are not permitted on the course.
