I Beg Your Parton 5k Run

The I Beg Your Parton event is a 5k road run held at Hawthorne Park, 500 Ackerman Dr, Porter, IN, on December 13, 2026. The event is presented as part of the Crazy Legs Race Series and takes place on park roads and nearby areas in the region. All registered runners receive a limited edition t-shirt; if shirts sell out, participants receive a winter hat and gloves instead. The shirt design will be posted soon.

Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Imagination Library affiliate that serves Porter County. Local champions for the Imagination Library affiliate include the Porter County Public Library System, Westchester Public Library System, and the Porter County Community Foundation. The affiliate currently covers 4,236 children, and the total number of enrolled children in Indiana is listed as 159,328. The organizing series promotes pavement and non-pavement races in Northwest Indiana and holds events in parks and areas across Lake, Porter and Laporte counties. The series states that participation is welcome regardless of sexual orientation, biological sex, gender identity, or gender expression, and that transgender runners may register under the gender they identify with without documentation. The organizers acknowledge that races are hosted on the seized territory of the Miami, Shawnee, and Illinois Nations and note historical presence of other groups including the Lenape.
