Festivus Run
The Festivus Run takes place in Chesterton, Indiana, starting and finishing at the Running Vines Winery. This event is part of the Race the Region Series. The race features chip timing with mats at the starting line and live results delivered through text and email messaging. Directional signs are placed at all turns along the course.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5K Run (3.1 Miles)
- 1K Kids Dash
The 1K Kids Dash is an untimed, non-competitive fun run for children. All finishers in the youth event receive a Santa hat upon completion. For the 5K Run, participants receive a custom finishers medal and a digital finishers certificate.
Awards include miniature Festivus Poles for the top overall male and female finishers, as well as the top masters male and female. Age group awards are provided for the top three male and female finishers in categories ranging from 10 and under to 75 and older. Packet pick-up is available in Valparaiso on the Friday and Saturday before the race, or on-site at the winery on the morning of the event. Participants who register before November 17 are guaranteed their preferred shirt size. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
