Event details
The Festivus 5K Run takes place on Sunday, December 13, 2026, in Chesterton, Indiana. The event is hosted by Race the Region at Running Vines Winery, 101 Broadway, Chesterton, IN 46304. The race program includes a 5K and a 1K mile Kids Dash. Entry fees listed are $30 for the 5K and $10 for the Kids Dash; prices increase after November 30, 2026.
Logistics and timing
Advanced packet pick-up and registration are scheduled at Extra Mile Fitness Company, 3400 Calumet Ave., Valparaiso, IN, on December 11 and December 12. Packet pick-up and race day registration are available at Running Vines Winery. Participants must be registered before November 17 to guarantee shirt sizes. For each 5K participant, start time is recorded as the runner crosses the starting line; runners must start within five minutes of the official start or they will be assigned gun time and may be disqualified. The kid's fun run is non-competitive.
Awards and services
The event offers a custom finishers medal and certificate, chip timing with timing mats at the starting line, live results via text and email, and directional signs at all turns. Custom overall and age-group awards include miniature Festivus Poles for top overall, masters, and top three in age groups from 10 & Under up through 75 and up. There is no online processing fee.
