Ridgefield Road Fest
The Ridgefield Road Fest marks its 50th anniversary with a series of running events held in Ridgefield, Connecticut. The event center is located at the Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield on Governor Street. These races are conducted on roads throughout southern Fairfield County, featuring a mix of New England scenery and rolling terrain.
The courses for the longer distances consist of loops that include some of the flatter sections found within the town. Participants encounter gradual climbs at the beginning of the route on East Ridge Road, followed by a downhill segment leading into downtown Ridgefield before Returning to the Boys & Girls Club. The available distances include:
- Half-Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 7-Miler (7 miles)
- 5K (3.1 miles)
The 7-Miler utilizes the same course as the longer race but follows a single slightly shorter loop instead of two full loops. Specific registration categories are available for the Iris Fund teams across all three distances.
The event partners with local organizations for charitable support. Proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield, which provides youth programming in arts, leadership, and athletics. The 5K distance specifically supports The Iris Fund, which focuses on research regarding labor triggers and provides assistance to families dealing with high-risk pregnancies or loss. Participants who contribute donations through the registration process are eligible for a raffle. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
