Newtown Turkey Trot
The 17th Annual Newtown Turkey Trot is a community fundraising event that benefits the C.H. Booth Library. The event offers a 5K run and a 2.5K fitness walk, with both courses starting and finishing at Newtown Middle School and following the routes introduced in 2019. The event has attracted more than 1,700 participants in recent years.
Race entry is by advance online registration and online signups are available up to race day. Entry fees increase by date: $25 before September 8, $35 from September 8 to October 31, and $45 from November 1 onward; additional processing fees apply. Registration must be completed before the race begins.
Race packets, including bibs and shirts, are available for pickup at C.H. Booth Library on the days before the race and on race morning in the Gathering Room. Participants registered by November 8 are guaranteed a 50/50 cotton race t shirt if they choose; a moisture wicking technical long sleeve shirt may be purchased during registration. Unclaimed shirts will be redistributed to other participants.
On race day no food is provided but water will be available courtesy of local sponsors. Dogs are not permitted. Organizers plan a post race awards ceremony with awards for the top three overall women, men, and non binary finishers and top three in each age group: under 10, 10 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 plus. Awards will be available near the finish and may be collected later or mailed. Results will be streamed during the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
