Newtown Turkey Trot
The 17th Annual Newtown Turkey Trot is a community running and walking event in Newtown, Connecticut, on November 26, 2026. The event benefits C.H. Booth Library and follows the routes introduced in 2019, with start and finish at Newtown Middle School, 11 Queen Street.
The event offers these distances:
- 5K run
- 2.5K fitness walk (1.6 miles)
Registration is by advance online entry. Entry fees vary by date and range from $25 to $45; group discounts are available for groups of four or more and processing fees apply. Participants who register by November 8 are guaranteed a race t-shirt if they choose. Race packets and bibs are available for pickup at C.H. Booth Library on the scheduled packet pickup days and on the morning of the event; packets must be collected before the race begins. All unclaimed shirts will be redistributed to other participants if not picked up by the start.
Water will be provided by local sponsors and no food will be provided. Dogs are not permitted to run or walk in the event. Awards are planned after the race for top three overall in women, men, and non-binary divisions and top three in each age group: under 10; 10-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70 and over.
