Newtown Turkey Trot

The Newtown Turkey Trot is the 17th annual community running event held in Newtown, Connecticut on 11/26/2026. The event benefits C.H. Booth Library and follows the routes introduced in 2019 with start and finish at Newtown Middle School. Participants can choose between a timed run and a shorter fitness walk.

Registration is by advance online registration. Entry fees follow tiered pricing: $25 early, $35 mid, and $45 late. Groups of four or more receive a $5 discount per registrant during the group discount period. All prices include additional processing fees required by Connecticut transparency rules. Online registration is available through race day and registration deadlines determine fee tiers.

Packet pickup and race check in take place at C.H. Booth Library on the days before the event and on race morning; participants must collect their race packet and bib before the race begins. Participants who register by November 8 are guaranteed a 50/50 cotton blend race t shirt; technical long sleeve shirts are available for purchase during registration. Unclaimed shirts will be redistributed to other participants if not picked up before the race.

No food will be provided on site; water is provided by local sponsors. Dogs are not permitted in the event. Awards are presented for overall and age group results, and results will be posted during the event.
