Richmond Park Marathon
The Richmond Park Marathon is a 26.2 mile race run entirely within Richmond Park, with the start and finish near Sheen Gate on the park's north side. The course is three laps: the first lap is 12 miles and combines the park perimeter with routes through the centre; the second and third laps follow the Tamsin Trail and are each about 7.1 miles.
- First lap: 12 miles around the perimeter and through the centre
- Second lap: 7.1 miles following the Tamsin Trail
- Third lap: 7.1 miles following the Tamsin Trail
The route is waymarked and supported by marshals at road junctions and crossings. A lead cyclist will guide runners and signs and arrows mark the course; official times may be affected by any detours. Chip timing is provided and race packs include a timing chip, race number, safety pins, a bag tag and race instructions. Race numbers must be worn on the front of the running shirt. A baggage area is available near the start and finish; bags are left at the owner’s risk.
Drink stations supply water and energy gels at three locations and at several approximate mile markers around the course. First aid cover and bicycle support are available, and a cut off of 6 hours 30 minutes applies. The event requests that runners respect other park users and use designated bins for litter.
