Richmond Park Half Marathon
The Richmond Park Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 13th September 2026. The event covers a distance of 13.1 miles or 21.1 km and starts from Sheen Gate with a single mass start on grass beside the road.
The route is a single lap around Richmond Park following a mix of paths, trails and park roads. Runners head up to Richmond Gate and join the Tamsin Trail before returning to Sheen Gate HQ. The course continues through Duchess Wood, past White Lodge and along roads near Spankers Hill Wood, then down toward Robin Hood Gate. The route follows the Tamsin Trail clockwise toward Broomfield Hill where water and runners food are provided. It then passes Ladderstile Gate, Dark Hill and crosses the Tamsin Trail at Kingston Gate where there is interaction with traffic. The trail runs along Queens Road toward Ham Gate, across a large field by Ham Gate Pond, past the golf club to Petersham Gate and back to Ham Gate. Runners then use the Horse Trail and a private park road toward Lawn Plantation before returning via the Queens Ride and back to Sheen Gate for completion of the lap.
The event is UK Athletics affiliated. Route maps, on the day instructions and photos from previous years are available. The organiser operates a no refunds policy and may allow an entry to be held for a future event at the race director's discretion when the event is at least five weeks away.
