Olympic Venue Triathlon
The Dorney Triathlon takes place at Dorney Lake in Windsor, a venue previously used for Olympic competitions. The event features a course with clear water and flat, scenic grounds. Because the routes do not use open public roads, the environment is suitable for those seeking a closed circuit. The race is designated as draft illegal and utilizes chip timing for all participants.
Participants can choose from several triathlon distances or alternative formats:
- Super Sprint: 400m swim, 10km bike, and 2.5km run.
- Sprint: 750m swim, 19km bike, and 5km run.
- Standard: 1500m swim, 38km bike, and 10km run.
- Aquabike: Options available for both Sprint and Standard distances, consisting of only the swim and bike disciplines.
- Relay: Options for 2 or 3 individuals to share the disciplines in the Sprint or Standard distances.
The event is held under British Triathlon regulations. All participants must hold a race licence, which requires either a Core or Ultimate annual membership or the purchase of a single-use Race Pass. Facilities at the site include free parking for attendees. Wetsuit hire is also available for the day or longer durations through event partners.
