Rhino Run : Saturday 3 January 2026
The Rhino Run is a six-hour timed challenge where participants may complete distances from a 5 km up to an ultramarathon within the time limit. The event is organised by Circuit Running Events Ltd, licensed by the TRA and run under UKA Athletics rules. Maximum entries are 100. Entries close 02/01/2026. Entry fees are listed as affiliated £33.00 and non-affiliated £35.00. The event raises awareness for rhino conservation and some proceeds will be donated to that cause.
Course, distances and facilities
The course runs along an old railway line on a tarmac path. It is an out-and-back loop with no navigation required. One lap measures 4.37 miles and there is a 5 km turn point. Aid is provided at the end of each lap with water, squash, fizzy drinks and a variety of food. Toilets and changing facilities are available at a nearby leisure or rowing club facility. Parking is limited; available bays on Preston Road are suggested and parking restrictions apply on Poorhouse Lane. Finishers receive a bespoke rhino-themed medal and a goody bag. Participants are asked to be considerate to other path users.
