The course is an out and back route that requires no navigation. It consists primarily of a tarmac path along an ancient railway line, complimented by a small section of trail. Each full lap measures 4.37 miles. Specific distances are achieved through different lap configurations:
- 5 km
- 10 km
- Half marathon
- Marathon
- Ultra marathon
An aid table is located at the end of every lap, providing water, squash, fizzy drinks, and a selection of food items including sweets, biscuits, and grapes. Upon completion of their chosen distance, participants receive a bespoke medal and a five-piece goody bag.
The race is licensed by the Trail Running Association (TRA) and conducted under UK Athletics rules. Maximum distance limits are enforced based on participant age, with a minimum entry age of 12 years. Facilities include toilets at a local leisure center. Parking is available in bays on Preston Road near Poorhouse Lane, a short walk from the starting location. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
