About the race
The Woldsman 30 is a long-distance walking and running event that starts and finishes at Driffield Showground in East Yorkshire. The course covers 32 miles across the Yorkshire Wolds and must be completed within 12 hours. The minimum entry age is 18 and the published entry fee is £22.
Checkpoints are placed along the route at named locations including Danes Graves, Sledmere Village Hall, Burdale and Wetwang Village Hall, with food and drink available at all checkpoints. Vegetarian food will be provided; other special diets are not guaranteed and participants with allergies should inform the organiser. Retirements must be made at checkpoints only. Finishers receive a badge, a certificate and a meal.
Basic camping is available at the showground for a small fee of £5 per person, and free car parking is provided at the showground. A full route description and a GPX file will be made available approximately one week before the event; because parts of the route cross private land, entrants must not recce the full route before event day.
Minimum mandatory kit is specified and includes Ordnance Survey maps (Explorer 294/295/300) and compass, waterproofs, first aid kit and survival bag, a mug for drinks, and extra clothing for warmth. Withdrawal refunds are available before 13 March 2027 minus an administration fee; after that date the entry fee is forfeited and transfers or deferrals are not permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
