Reservoir Dogs Trail Run - Orinda, CA
The Reservoir Dogs Trail Run offers multiple trail distances on East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) land at San Pablo Reservoir near Orinda, CA. Courses circle the Briones/Briones Reservoir watershed and combine rolling open fire roads, tree-covered single-track, and sweeping views of reservoir lands. The majority of the route is on moderately technical dirt trails and fire roads with gently rolling hills; hiking poles are permitted.
Distances and approximate elevation gains:
- 5K - 3.1 miles | ~200' elevation gain
- 10K - 6.2 miles | ~425' elevation gain
- Half Marathon - 14 miles | ~1,400' elevation gain
- 35K - 23 miles | ~2,500' elevation gain
The Start and Finish are located at the San Pablo Reservoir Visitor Center. Parking is available at the boat launch adjacent to that area, with a $7 parking fee; exact change is preferred. The event has a 300-runner capacity and uses professional chip timing with disposable bib chips.
Aid stations provide a range of foods and drinks, including energy gels, stroop-waffles, snacks, electrolytes, soda, and seasonal fruit; stations carry basic first aid supplies. The event is cupless; runners are responsible for their own drink containers. Drop bag service is not available. Dogs are not permitted. Awards are given by gun time for overall places and by chip time for age groups, with finisher medals and additional category awards.
