About the race
The Renfro Rock 'N Run is an annual run/walk event in Renfro Valley / Mount Vernon, Kentucky, featuring a Half Marathon and multiple 5K options. The course runs through rural scenery including rustic cabins, a lake, and farmland, and is part of the Rockcastle Regional Countywide Stride series and a national Program of Excellence Award winner.

Registration opens on March 1 with fees that vary by event; some entries are free for students. Participant items listed by the organizer include long-sleeve shirts and a commemorative medal for half marathon finishers, and short-sleeve shirts for 5K participants. Registration fees are nonrefundable; some events allow limited transfer for a fee.
Safety information: no strollers or dogs are permitted. The course is not closed to traffic but is patrolled by local law enforcement, emergency services, and volunteer motorcycle support. Course markings include mile markers and orange taped arrows. Use of one earbud is suggested for awareness when traffic is present.
Awards are given to overall winners and to top finishers by age group for both the half marathon and 5K; the 5K also recognizes fastest walkers.
