Renegade Leeds is an urban team hunt. One half of your team runs to checkpoints while the other half pursues them, all tracked live on GPS. It's a five hour game of strategy and movement, not a race.

The Event

Renegade is a team event in Leeds focused on pursuit, not racing or navigation. It splits teams into two roles: Hunters and Hunted.

The Format

Teams must consist of 2, 4, or 6 people. At the start, teams are divided evenly into Hunters and Hunted. Roles are assigned on the day and cannot be swapped. The Hunted get a 15-minute head start. The Hunted must visit three specific checkpoints, in order, and then return to the base. The straight-line distance between checkpoints totals approximately 6 miles, though the actual running distance is longer. The Hunters must pursue and try to get within 3 metres of any Hunted team member to capture them and end the game. Hunters are not allowed to wait near checkpoints or the base; they must actively follow.

Tracking and Rules

All participants are live-tracked via GPS. Everyone can see the location of their teammates and the opposing half of their team. The Hunted receive a map; the Hunters do not. The event is a closed challenge. Participants may only use information gained by their own team, the map (for Hunted), and the live tracking. Outside assistance is not permitted. The total event duration is 5 hours. The hunt ends if the Hunted return after completing all checkpoints, if any Hunted member is captured, or when the time limit expires.

Logistics

The event starts and finishes at a base location in Leeds city centre. GPS tracking is an optional feature available to participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

The Objective for Hunted Involves Three Checkpoints and a Return to Base. The Straight-Line Distance Between Checkpoints Is 6 Miles. Each Leg Is Roughly 3 Miles Apart. This Indicates a Total Straight-Line Distance of 6 Miles for the Hunted's Route, But Actual Running Distance Will Be Longer Due to Urban Navigation. Therefore, The Distance Is Not a Fixed Measured Race Distance Like a 10k; It's a Dynamic Urban Pursuit With a Base Line of 6 Miles 'as the Crow Flies'.
