Event overview
The Leeds 5K is a monthly race held from February to November at the University of Leeds Brownlee Centre. The event distance is 5 Kilometres. Races are organised by Even Splits and are EA licensed. Timing is chip-based and results appear on Power of 10. Results are sent by text at the finish and mile splits are published the next day. A chocolate bar is provided at the finish.
Course and facilities
The course is a road route with a flat profile completed over three laps. The race is suitable for wheelchairs. On-course facilities include water stations, distance markers and toilets. There are no changing facilities, no showers and no baggage store. Race HQ is at Brownlee Centre, Bodington Playing Fields, Bodington Avenue, Leeds LS16 8NA.
Entry, numbers and rules
Entry closes online at 10:00 on race day and entry on the day is not available. The event has an entry limit of 200 places; remaining places were listed as 187. Entry prices are: affiliated single entry £10.00, unaffiliated single entry £12.00, Leeds Race Pass (Mar-Nov) affiliated £62.00, unaffiliated £74.00. First-time entrants are issued a race number with an embedded timing chip that can be reused at Leeds and York 5K. Previously issued RED 5K numbers from 2020-25 may be used in 2026 if recorded on the entry form. One free number replacement is allowed in a 12 month period; further replacements cost £4. No refunds or transfers are permitted. Deferral to the next race in the calendar year is allowed once if requested at least three days before race day.
