The Leeds 5K is a monthly, chip-timed road race held at the University of Leeds Brownlee Centre, Bodington Playing Fields, Leeds LS16 8NA. Races run from February to November. The course is 5 kilometres, flat and run over three laps. The event is EA licensed and results appear on Power of 10. Finish-line texts are sent to runners as they cross, and mile splits are published the next day. A chocolate bar is provided at the finish.
Entry, equipment and facilities
Entry is limited to 200 runners; 198 places remained at the time of listing. Online entry closes on race day at 10:00 and entry on the day is not available. Prices include race fees, card charges and administration: single race entry is £10.00 (affiliated) or £12.00 (unaffiliated); a Leeds Race Pass for March to November is £62.00 (affiliated) or £74.00 (unaffiliated). First-time entrants are assigned a race number with an embedded timing chip for use at Leeds and York 5K; the number is collected at Registration. A previously issued RED 5K race number (2020-25) may be reused if recorded on the entry form. One free number replacement is allowed per 12 months; further replacements cost £4.
Facilities noted: water stations, distance markers and toilets. There are no changing facilities, no showers and no baggage store. The organiser’s race licence was listed as applied for. Deferral and refund rules: places may be deferred once to the next race in the calendar year if requested at least three days before race day; entries are non-refundable and non-transferable.
