Course and logistics
The course runs through Redwood Regional Park, using East Ridge, West Ridge, Stream, and Bridle trails. Distances are measured with a Rolatape surveyor's wheel. The route is marked with ribbon about every 200 yards and uses color coding; polka-dot flagging marks turns and blue ribbons mark wrong directions. Course surfaces and elevation gains vary by distance (examples: Half Marathon gain 1,530' with single track 39% and dirt road 59%; Marathon gain 3,070').
Aid stations are fully stocked every 5 to 6 miles with fruit, salty snacks, candy, water, and Skratch electrolyte drink. The event is cupless; runners are asked to bring their own fluid container. Results are timed with MyLaps bib tags and published regularly. Time limits apply to longer events (for example, Marathon 8 hours 45 minutes; all events 9 hours).
