Redman 9 miler - December 5, 2026
The Redman 9 miler is a trail race held around Lake Redman in York, PA. The course is mostly single track and climbs a cumulative total of about 1,200 feet. Runners cross under Interstate-83 twice; both tunnel crossings commonly carry ankle-deep water and the second crossing is roughly 50 yards long and requires ducking for clearance. A headlamp is not required.
There is one aid station located just before the halfway point, stocked with water, Gatorade, and quick energy items. The event allows 2 hours to reach the aid station (about 4 miles) and has a 4.5-hour cutoff for the finish.
A ruck division is offered for 2026: participants under 150 lb carry 20 lb, and those over 150 lb carry 30 lb. Rucking with less weight is permitted only if the participant registers in the running division, but then they are not eligible for ruck awards. An award will be given for the best Ugly Christmas Sweater.
Finishers receive a finisher item; top three men and top three women receive premium awards. Post-race food is served in the pavilion, and if at least 60 participants register, a brisket option will be available. The course remains open to the public during the event; runners are asked to be courteous to other trail users and to avoid littering. If park trails are closed the race will convert to a virtual event with no refund; awards and finisher coins will still be presented.
