Redbird Run 5K - Virginia
Redbird Run is a 5K run and walk held in Virginia, Illinois on June 6, 2026. The event is located at 651 S Morgan St and is presented as part of the town's Virginia BBQ festival, which runs June 5 through June 7.
The race is organized by the Virginia Cross Country Team, which includes fifth through twelfth grade athletes from Virginia and Triopia schools. Proceeds from the event are designated for celebrating student success after the season, purchasing new uniforms, and acquiring workout equipment.
On-site packet pickup and registration are provided at the Virginia High School entrance; online registration opens March 6, 2026 and closes on the day of the race. The registration fee is $25. Parking is available in the Virginia School lots and near the ball diamonds.
The course begins and ends near Virginia School and passes by local landmarks such as the Virginia BBQ Square, Cass County Fair Grounds, Rexroat Prairie, and Virginia Park. Awards are given to the top male and top female runners in each category: Overall, 14 and Under, 15 to 24, 25 to 44, 45 to 59, and 60 plus.
