Red Eft 5.5 Miler
The Red Eft 5.5 Miler is a road running event scheduled for July 25, 2026 in Norton, Virginia. The course begins just outside downtown Norton at the High Knob Destination Center and runs into the citys Flag Rock Recreation Area before returning to the same finish location.
The route is an out-and-back that gains more than 1,000 feet on the outbound leg to an area near the Flag Rock Overlook, then retraces the same roadway and descends more than 1,000 feet back to the High Knob Destination Center. The advertised distance for the race is 5.5 miles.
Registration for the inaugural event opens January 15, 2026. Online registration is available on UltraSignup.com and mail-in forms are listed on the event registration page. Event proceeds benefit program development at the High Knob Destination Center.
