Red Eft 5.5 Miler : Norton, VA
The event is a 5.5 Miler held in Norton, Virginia, with the finish area located in the High Knob Destination Center parking area. The course is an out-and-back route that passes through Flag Rock Recreation Area. It is an open course, so vehicles may be present on the road; runners should be visible when ascending sections that include sharp and blind curves. Course marshals and directional arrows will be posted at key points.
Timing will be done by hand; runners are asked to keep their bibs visible at the finish so times can be recorded. Aid stations with water are positioned at about the 1.9-, 2.75-, and 3.4-mile markers. Restroom facilities are available at the registration site and along the course in Flag Rock Recreation Area.
Online registration closes at midnight on Thursday, July 23, 2026. Race day registration and packet pick-up will be held at the High Knob Destination Center, 1147 Laurel Ave. SW, Norton, VA; packet pick-up includes a race shirt and bib/pins. Race day registration will be charged at $45.
Awards will be presented to the top three men and women and to the overall masters man and woman (age 40 and up). Finisher pins will be given to everyone who completes the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
