Run the Tunnel

Run the Tunnel is the 33rd annual road and trail footrace held at Natural Tunnel State Park in Duffield, VA. The event is organized by the State of Franklin Track Club and the Scott County Chamber of Commerce and is part of the State of Franklin Track Club King & Queen and Trail Series competitions. The course distance is approximately 3.8ish Miles.

Registration opens on 2026-04-26 and closes on 2027-04-23. The registration fee is $20.00. All participants receive a race t shirt.

Awards are presented to male and female winners in the following overall categories: Overall, Masters, Grandmasters, and Senior Grandmasters. Age group awards are given three deep for both male and female in these groups: 19 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79, and 80 and above. Awards are themed items rather than traditional trophies or medals. The 2026 theme was "You've Earned Your Stripes" and awards were handmade zebra print seat covers.
