32nd Annual Run the Tunnel
The 32nd Annual Run the Tunnel is a footrace held at the Natural Tunnel State Park in Duffield, Virginia. The event is hosted through a collaboration between the State of Franklin Track Club and the Scott County Chamber of Commerce. Participants compete on a course that combines road and trail terrain.
The race consists of a single distance:
- 3.8 miles road and trail race
This event serves as a qualifying race for the State of Franklin Track Club's King & Queen and Trail Series competitions. All individuals who participate in the event receive a race t-shirt as part of their entry.
Awards are presented to male and female winners across several broad categories including Overall, Masters, Grandmasters, and Senior Grandmasters. Additionally, the organizers recognize the top three finishers in age groups ranging from 19 & Under up to 80 & Above. Rather than traditional medals or trophies, the prizes are specific items selected to match an annual race theme.
