Event overview
The 2026 Red Deer Spartan Trifecta Weekend takes place in Red Deer, Alberta on August 8-9, 2026. The event is set at Heritage Ranch on the banks of the Red Deer River, a 217-acre property located roughly halfway between Calgary and Edmonton. The race course uses terrain with stable elevation and a mix of wide and single-track trails. On-site features include the Westlake Grill, guided horseback trail rides, and scenic walks around the ranch.
Race distances
- Sprint - 5 km, 20 obstacles
- Super - 10 km, 25 obstacles
- Beast - 21 km, 30 obstacles
- Kids Race - 1-3 km, obstacles
- Hurricane Heat - 4 hour endurance heat
Obstacles and finishers
The event features many standard Spartan obstacles, including Atlas Carry, A-Frame Cargo, Barbed Wire Crawl, Fire Jump, Inverted Wall, Bucket Carry, Hercules Hoist, Multi-Rig, Rope Climb, Sandbag Carry, Slip Wall, Spear Throw, and various walls. Finishers receive event items such as a Sprint finisher medal and a finisher tee. Completing a Sprint, Super, and Beast in the same year earns a Trifecta medal.
