Halloween Half Run - event details
The event takes place on October 31, 2026 at Bower Ponds Outdoor Stage, 4707 Fountain Dr, Red Deer, AB. Runners use the river north paths on an out and back course due to construction.
The distances offered are:
- 5 km
- 10 km
- 21.1 km (half marathon)
The course is marked with colored flags: 5 km follows blue flags, 10 km follows yellow flags after the blue, and 21.1 km follows red flags after the blue and yellow. On course aid stations provide water and gels. Porta potties will be stocked with hand sanitizer.
Entry includes a timing chip and race bib with results, a commemorative finisher medal, and post race snacks from Cinnzeo including buns and additional food options. An optional long sleeve shirt is available for 29 CAD. Entry fees increase on April 13; published fees are 5 km 55 CAD, 10 km 65 CAD and half marathon 79 CAD. No refunds, deferrals, or transfers are available.
Free parking is available at Bower Ponds. Volunteers receive a transferable race credit. A costume contest is planned and the best costume wins a free race entry. Participants should return timing chips at the finish or a kept chip will be charged 75 CAD. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
