The Real Life 5K/10K
This is a free, family-friendly community run organized by Real Life Community Outreach. The event is based at River City Community Church in Selma, TX, with the route running through Retama Park and beginning at the Real Life Center.

Course and services include certified 5K and 10K courses and professional chip timing provided by IAAP. The route uses the turf course at Retama Park, the same surface used for horse racing at that venue. All finishers receive custom finisher medals, and competitive divisions award age-group prizes in five-year increments by gender. Live announcements and a post-race gathering are part of the event program. Fundraisers who donate $25 or more receive a performance running hat.
The run supports ongoing food assistance work. Real Life Community Outreach provides weekly food support to about 400 families; in 2025 the organization distributed 1.1 million pounds of food and reached 72,868 families across 50 weeks of distribution.
