Calaverita Run 5K & Family Walk
The Calaverita Run 5K and Family Walk is a community event in San Antonio held as part of Día de los Muertos activities. The event features a run and a family walk along a course that includes altars and live music. After participants complete their route, a festive area with local vendors and community art is available.
Participants may run or walk with a photo of a loved one on their race bib and afterward place that photo on a community altar. The event offers branded items for early registrants; the first 250 registered participants receive a Calaverita Run 5K fanny pack and an LED armband. Event fees are nonrefundable.
Registration opens on July 10, 2026. Listed event entry fees include a 5K registration fee of $35, a family walk individual fee of $25, and a family walk group fee of $80.
