REaDy to Run 5K Run/Walk
The REaDy to Run 5K Run/Walk in Atlanta is a community event that celebrates its fifth anniversary in 2026. This USATF-certified 5 km course serves as a qualifier for the AJC Peachtree Road Race. The route consists of many flat sections along with some gentle slopes. Participants have a time limit of 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete the distance.
The event offers two primary participation options:
- In-Person 5K
- Virtual 5K
The virtual option allows participants to record their 5 km on a course of their choice or a treadmill during the week of the race. Virtual runners receive their finisher medal by mail. For in-person participants, the event utilizes RFID timing technology to provide live results shortly after finishing. Strollers are permitted on the course, but pets are not allowed.
All proceeds from the event support two organizations: Girls of Excellence (GOE) and the Hope Floats Foundation. GOE provides life experiences and mentoring for young women, while Hope Floats offers scholarships for swim lessons to children in need. The race is sponsored by the Marietta-Roswell Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. In-person participants receive a finisher medal, a short-sleeve T-shirt or tank top, and access to free race photos. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
