Rancho Hills Trail Run Summer
The Rancho Hills Trail Run takes place on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Rancho Cañada del Oro Open Space Preserve in Morgan Hill, California. The event offers multiple trail distances that start on Longwall Canyon Trail and finish at the aid station near the main parking lot picnic tables.
Distances include:
- 5K
- 10K
- 8 Mile
- 10 Mile
- Half Marathon
- 30K
- Trail Marathon
- 50K
The courses use a mix of single track and dirt roads and are described as very hilly. Trails pass foothills, creeks, and old oak trees; portions of the course are exposed to sun while other sections offer shade. Course ascent increases with distance, with the longest distances having several thousand feet of climb.
Overall time limits range from 1 hour for the 5K to 9 hours for the 50K, with specific cutoffs assigned to each distance. There are two fully stocked aid stations: the Rancho Cañada del Oro start/finish aid station and the Catamount and Bald Peaks Trail intersection aid station. Drop bags are accepted only at the main aid station. One portable toilet is provided at the main parking area; additional public toilets are noted nearby.
Guidance from organizers recommends carrying water for longer distances. All finishers receive a medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
