Race headquarters and the start/finish are on Aberystwyth Promenade at the bandstand. Both races use a mix of surfaces and include hill climbs and descents along local paths and roads.

The senior course heads south from the bandstand, circles the harbour, climbs Pen Dinas (gravel then rocky ascent, hillfort at the summit) and returns via the promenade to climb Constitution Hill (rocky path, crosses the cliff railway, then tarmac descent back to the promenade). The junior course starts and finishes at the bandstand and takes in part of or a full climb of Constitution Hill. Race HQ provides registration and informal bag storage.
