Course, logistics and kit
Race headquarters is Aberdovey Village Hall, Aberdyfi LL35 0NR. The start is about 200 yards from Aberdyfi train station and the main car park. Harlech train station is about 200 yards from the finish and provides a direct connection back to the start; trains on this route run roughly every 90-120 minutes. Organisers will transport one bag per runner from the start to the finish area.
The entry fee includes a fully recced course, food and drinks at four separate checkpoints, and a finisher award. For some returning to the Castle, belt buckles are awarded instead of a traditional medal. The course is well signed and includes beach, tracks, and pavements. There is a 12 hour time limit.
Compulsory kit includes a rucksack with a minimum 1 litre water capacity, emergency food, a fully charged mobile phone, waterproof jacket, whistle, map and compass, a first aid kit, and a collapsible cup. OS Explorer maps OL23 and OL18 are referenced for the route. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
