The Winter Run to the Castle Ultra
The Winter Run to the Castle Ultra, by How Hard Can It Be Events, is a point-to-point coastal challenge in Wales. Starting in Aberdyfi (HQ at Aberdyfi Village Hall) and finishing in Harlech, it covers about 42 miles, with a marathon distance from Aberdyfi to Barmouth for a shorter option. The route winds along Tywyn’s seafront, through Fairbourne (via the Fairbourne bridge) and into Barmouth before reaching the castle town.
The course is well signposted and a mix of beach, tracks and pavements. Highlights include a fully recced route, four aid checkpoints, bag transport, online results, a finishers medal, and belt buckles for Castle finish. Time limit: 12 hours.
